My 888 Strada has a bit of a potentially scary fuelling glitch.
When riding along normally its as if you've hit the kill switch for a split second then it cuts back in again.

Its only done it a few times ranging from a split second (like a misfire) to about a second or so.

luckily its only done it while upright so far.

Any ideas

Are you sure it's not electrical?
My monster was doing that... turned out to be the sidestand switch not making proper contact.
Happened to me going through Mansfield with my knee on the deck!

Had a similar problem on my 851

Went through all sorts and it turned out to be the alarm

Removed alarm - problem solved

The next time this happens, check your tach needle. If it drops to zero, then you’ll know that there’s no signal output from the engine management computer. This means that it also won’t be sending timing information to the coils or the fuel injectors.

If this is the case, the problem could be in the sensor inputs to the computer, the computer itself, or just in the associated wiring/connectors. If the tach needle doesn’t drop, the problem is more likely in the injector relays.

Have your dealer use their Mathesis ECU tester to check the computer and sensor outputs for any obvious problems. The crank position sensor and TPS are likely candidates.

Because of similar problem reports, I’d first suspect that the crank position sensor needs repositioning to get the correct gap, or possibly need replacement.

I take it that was Mansfield the corner, not Mansfield, Notts

What I've heard (but fortunately not experienced) about crank position sensors, the bike ought to be running as rough as a badgers ar$e if it's faulty.
I'm voting for something as simple as a bad connection somewhere.

If your tacho is bouncing around check the earth connection from the battery, had my terminals vibrate loose and had similar symptoms

had the same problem on my 851 , as some other member will know.
random cutting out at any speed etc, flip the kill switch off, then on again quickly, back to normal.Can be a bit hairy on a motorway in the fast lane when it happens .

I tried every thing without success, when it went into baines, it turned out to be a dry solder joint in the managment module under the seat. problem solved, but it took a while to find it.

Sounds like it could be a connection fault somewhere and in fact once it happened over a particularly bad repair in the road which jolted the bike.

Think I've got something to do now this weekend!!
