Question question about oil cooler connections on MK1 superlight.

A question for anyone who may know this.
On my superlight's oil cooler there is a what appears to be a isolating valve connected to the coooler.
It only moves a quater of a turn, either on of off, like the plumbing valves with the blue or red handles.
How do I know which is way it should be, there is another smaller oil line connected to the out going side of the valve, which goes to the bottom of the carbs , linking both carbs and then returning to the cooler.
What is this for, it's not shown in the manual.
I'm a bit concerned that this valve could easly get moved to a closed postion, so I need to be sure what postion it should be in normal rididng mode, would it have been part of this mod for the carbs etc.
any help guys.

Cheers
R

Its the carb heating kit to help with carb icing in winter-it diverts hot engine oil round the float bowls to stop icing-cannot remember which way the tap works though-would presume if it was on pos it would not divert the oil

I would assume that if the handle is at right angles to the tap it would be shut and inline for open, that is the way the plumbing valves work

Mood: Must fix Superlight... Must fix Superlight...
90 degrees to main oil line, oil goes via carbs, then to cooler and "stops" carb icing... Inline with hose and the oil goes straight through to the cooler.

Never made a blind bit of difference either way on my SL...
