Quick shifter wanted and advice please

Gonna have to bite the bullet for next year and buy a race pattern quickshifter for the 996.

Been looking at these http://www.moto46.co.uk/quick-shifters.html

but hoping someone may have a used one for sale. I really don't understand why they are so feckin expensive.

Thoughts please?

Me too Neil, but I'm finding it complicated. I have been looking at this type http://www.ducationly.com.au/sp_quickshifter.html I dont know where you can get this type from in the UK

I've also been directed to the HM type that work on you giving the gear lever some slight pressure with your foot whilst full throttle( dont know if they work for 996 ? )

Anyway keep me in the loop Neil

Have found some info on them, love the fact they can work Race or Road patten.
So they work OK on the 996 then Neil. What does that wire into ?

Thx

The ones I've fitted have been race shift, ie just the lever and cut they ignition via the coils.
The HM ones just "work" out of the box. From memory, just ask for the bike specific one as the later bikes use coil sticks and the connectors are different.

Is it the Cordona ones you have fitted?

Sorry...I was talking about the HM Shifters, just seconded Dementors thoughts.
I've not had any dealings with the ones from cordona.

HM here on the yellow shed. Been fine for three years. Race shift direct to gearbox splines
