why would it do this??

I got back from a ride not so long ago, and as I pulled onto the drive found the generator light glowing.

I replaced the regulator with an Electrex one (£70ish) and it's cured. Simple enough job, it just plugs in - and there's a diagram with the new one showing how to fit it.

NOOO!
I cant spend anymore on the bike!
I need to get rid of it to start my 1st business so the less I spend on it from now on in the better. :-(

Check the connectors from the alternator to the regulator. They can melt just the same as the later bikes.
Cut the cables back and fit new connectors. Make surethey are tight and tape them up.
