Surprised at Oulton

Unexpectedly at a loose end for a few hours yesterday so popped along to Oulton; Focused were running a track day there ...... surprised at (a) how few bikes were on track overall, with each group only having c30 riders, and (b) not seeing any of the usual NW based Ducati faces there.

Was there something on elsewhere that I missed, or was it simply a case of no-one being free/knowing it was on....

Did see Mick Grant there doing suspension setups - or as I first knew him, 'young' Mick Grant :-)

I think it's a general trend that trackdays are not as busy as they have been - maybe people are watching the pennies these days?

Funnily enough, and you'll be familiar with this one Mike, I should've been working but the manager of the contract decided (at one days notice!) that he wanted to do an interim financial review before the next 3 months work, then took a fortnights holiday!!! That's contract engineering for you!

When I arrived (about 10:30am), there was some sort of delay and a group were lined up waiting to go out - they were left at the pits for twenty minutes, then disbanded, then, when they'd all gone back to garages, given 2 minutes notice to 'regroup' .... wasn't the best bit of organising I've seen ...

In fairness I didn't find out what caused the delay (could've been serious) and the rest of the day seemed to go smoothly...
