Loom and/or help required

I stole the engine out of my 620 (2002) monster to build a DD bike

The DD bike started life as a 750ss ie (1999) and the plan was to rebuild the monster as a 750.

didn't realise how different the looms where tho

I've been patiently watching fleabay for the right one to show up but no joy

does anyone have a monster loom to suit the older ECU that they would be willing to part with

I'm supposed to be taking it to Italy in Sept and I'm running out of time to get it sorted.

Alternatively does anyone have any bright ideas??

One solution would to be to convert as 750/900SSie harness or Modify a 800/1000/S2R Harness.

Which clocks are you using and what connector is on the back.

Not ideally, Stroke is different as the 750 uses the same stroke as the 620. Also the 620s and 800s use higher flow injectors so fueling would be way out if your using the earlier 750 Injectors. But the 620/800 ECUs can be reprogrammed to suit

If your going with adapting the clocks from a 750SSie then its probably best to try and adapt the SS Harness

Yep, but ECUs are coded to the clocks (which themselves are coded to the Keys) so either need the whole lot, or a virgin ECU that will code to the clocks or a ECU with the IMMO turned off.

If thinking of goiing down that sort of route it would probably be cheaper to fit the 750 Engine if you already have one, S2R harness and get a 59M ECU and have its IMMO turned off and loaded with a Map from a 620 and have the Fuel map altered to get it nearer to the the setup your running, although fitting a Power commander in allow you to dial the fueling in.

Just had a look at my maps and I dont have one for a 750, Antonye or ChrisW may have one

Wouldn't be to hard to adapt a 620 or S2R harness to fit the 750 ECU (1.5M type), the two 38 way connectors would need removing and replacing with the 26 way connector and a slight alteration to the Starter solinoid wiring and possibly the Clutch switch wiring

Many thanks as always kev

Got the ECU, clocks and key?barrel for the 800 that's not a prob

Had a little look at the wiring diagrams and from what I can tell:

The 900 got fuel inj first (loom 1)

The 620 and the 750 got it 2002 with a revised ECU and loom (loom 2)

900 loom got revised again 2002 (loom 3)

620 revised to loom 3 2004

So I'm guessing if I want to plug and play with the 800 ECU I'd need a 900 loom post 02 or any other post 04 (or one off an 800 obviously)

Does that sound about right?

I think rewiring the loom is a little beyond my meagre ability ..

Think will try the 620 ECU / PCIII with the 750 motor first

The main difference between the (loom2) and (loom3) is the starting circuit and the neutral switch and its various interlocks to do with the sidstand switch and clutch switch.
