I am guessing it's out of warranty then? How old is your bike?

Ducati 996 BP registered 2002, Not really hammered it that much, no track days yet, just getting the bike ready for them next year.

Hmmmm....

Does it feel like it's firing on one cylinder every now and again?

Hard to say, I've run the bike with only one cyclinder firing, forgot to connect the plug to HT coil after fitting crash bungs and it dosn't feel like that. Hopefully once they have completed the service they can then start to find out about the spluttering, may be TPS or possibly ECU fault. Should find out later on this week how things are going

Is it on 2 or 4 injectors. The 4 injector setup is known to be a bit spluttery. FIM chip and tie off two injector feeds, different bike.

Rgds, Rob

It is a 4 injector model, but this has only just started to happen, have never noticed any problems upto now. Had bike one year. Will see how things go.

cmoss - this sounds like exactly the same problems I had after my first 6000 mile service. When I got it back is was crap, wouldn't run at low revs, popped and crackled on overrun and basically was only good flat out. The bike was re-shimmed and basic other stuff.

I took it to Sigma Performance and had FIM Ultimap chip and some fettling. Bike was transformed.

As far as I remember, there's only 2 injectors - you can get FIM chips to run with 1 or 2 injectors. I could be wrong though. Mines still running on the 2 injector setup with FIM ultimap UM239 chip (but this is for the 996S so don't get that one).

Cheers, zig
