I'd like to. Just don't know what is happening yet. It's a long old way away to March 2007.

3) New Era & the DSC agree so many prospective riders in each class, thus we need 1 or 2 grids, etc.

4) If riders dont commit up front, then how are the Club able to commit?

I realise it is all chiken & egg, but trust (commitment) has to start somewhere.

say we pay our £200, and 5 months on cannot fund a season, buy a bike etc. - we won't be able to race irrespective of joining the club. we would just be £200 worse off
would be good if a deposit would suffice - say £50 not refundable?

Sorry, know I'm not involved with DD but I'm a bit confused as to what exactly the club commits to with New Era? is it just an idea of numbers or a commitment in financial terms like a trackday would be?

Then don't commit now, wait till next year.
I'm sure if a major disaster occurs the club will look at your situation, racing is expensive and if you can afford it now then why wouldn't you be able to in March (disasters excepted) ?

Most of this is common sense, the club wants to approach new era and the club has certain things we want. By showing our commitment gives us more chance of getting the things we want. If we didn't show the commitment we would place ourselves more in the hands of new era. It's good to have bargaining tools in any sort of discussion.

I re-state that this is a bit of what comes 1st chicken or the egg?

The deposit cheques dont get cashed now, we hold them on file, as in previous years.

In part we need people to commit to racing now, so that we can negotiate with New Era and secure the best option for the riders.

The alternative is to go along to New Era in say March, when you have made your minds up and see what left overs we can get and then race with that.

I think I know which version of this the riders actually want.
