Mood: 900 went 999 gone, Multi came and went, 749 Nero now
Brembo P4 calipers

Seen these on ebay and wondered if anybody has experience of them.
Look good to me and would like improved braking on my multi so..?

Just checked with local dealer who tells me they are only £265.
Even he thought it was cheap.

To be honest, you'd probably get a better braking experience by changing your pads from OEM to something a little more grippy. Yes, the P4 is a very good caliper but the standard system is a very good setup let down by **** pads, imho.

Try some Carbone Lorraine SBK3 pads in there first, if they do those pads for yours. This should improve the initial "bite" and stop them feeling so wooden when you're braking.

If that still doesn't satisfy you, then upgrade to the P4 calipers.

Does your MultiStroodle have radial master cylinders as standard, like the 749/999 ?

I've compared the brakes on my 748 (standard disks, standard pads, goldline calipers, goldline master cylinder) with my 620 DD (standard disks, SBK pads, goldline calipers, Brembo race radial master) and the 600 DD (standard disks, SBK pads, goldline calipers, Brembo radial master from 999) and both of the DD bikes win hands down over the 748!

Cheers for that mate.
Well the 'kit' on ebay is for both calipers so quoted parkys the kit number.
I'll do some more digging

If you just want the calipers, which is all you need really, then buy them direct from the UK importer - GPR Direct. I know he's a mate of Ali on here and they've done some stuff for me in the past and always been top notch service.

Price for a P4 from them is £136.92 per side.

Really easy to swap them out, so if you need a hand let me know.

just checked out the DP catalogue and it does say it's a 'racing calipers kit with 4 pads' so must be for both.
Might have to have it.
Thanks for the offer of install, might need to take you up on that.

I just stuck a set of EBC HH pads in the Multi at the weekend and they have really sharpened the brakes up nicely. Had been thinking bout trying the P4s though. Was tempted to pull them off the 996r and stick em on the Multi to see how well they worked.

If you are happy to go with used then its worth giving Jim at Bike Enders in Romford a shout, his price is usually £125 a pair. Most bikes need new hoses as the banjos fit to the 4-pads on the side of the caliper with most others fitting in the top
