The best road tyres IMO are Michelin Pilot Road 2CT. Grippy enough in the dry to allow full lean, excellent in the rain and good life too - currently up to 6000 miles on the ER6 with another 3-4k left in them.

Not quite as sticky as Pilot Power 2CT, but not so that you'd notice. The latter are great too - took me to a 4th place in the rain when my wets failed to turn up

I rate both tyres leagues ahead of Diablos.

I stuck Diablo Corsa's on my 900ss I got at a discount price.

They're a good step up froam the standard Diablo's with more than enough grip on the roads & trackdays for me.

Still scarred by Mich Pilot Sport tyres I tried a few years ago - terrible tyres - swore I'd never buy Mich again!!

Pilot Sports don't compare. Power 2CTs are superb, but on the balance of things I prefer the Road 2's for the extra mileage and better wet weather grip. They are all you need for a road tyre and nothing leaves my Triumph on the road which, runs Pilot Road 2's.

You sure you mean Pilot Sport's?? I have 3 sets of them on my ST4S-never had any problems and that includes track riding. I also used Diablo's-ok, Diablo Road-also ok, and it had Michelin Pilot Road 2CT on it when I sold it which were great. I use Pilot Power 2CT on Sparky which are great.
Now, if you were talking about Michelin Highsports-or Highsides as we used to call them-different matter. Now there was a tyre which needed LOTS of warming up-good grip once warm-but if it let go.........................
