Dialed your cams??

Have you dialed your cams into spec settings? How far where they out?

Did you do any before and after dyno or was it part of a bigger job?

Regards,

Rob

Getting mine done as part of my retail therapy after changing lots of rockers and a cam after the usual problems
Understand that one inlet cam was well out when checked on opening timing but not too bad when checked using lobe centres. Appears all cams are up to 7' out on lobe centres so it will be interesting to see if I get any power improvement when its finished. At least with a new cam I will be getting full lift again on the vertical exhaust which will be useful

Skidlids,

What cams have you got in the 955? I was wondering if the 431 inlet and G ex would be too radical for a road engine, occasional TD's too.

Rgds,

Rob

Rob, I have no idea what cams it uses, the engine is a Ex Duchams/GSE engine from when Jim Moodie and Ian Simpson were the riders. Its previous owner used it for Real Road Racing, it finished 2nd at the Manx GP a couple of years back. And when ever it was used for the TT or Manx GP fortnights it would get a full rebuild afterwards.

Rob, you really should talk to a reputable tuner who has lots of experience setting up Ducati engines.

There are several: Nelly at Cornerspeed who is on this site, Neil at Sigma, John Hackett.

John set up my Corse engine last year including dialing of the cams. He did a superb job as usual. It can make a difference, it just depends how far they are out and how much tuning you've done. I supsect you're just starting down this VERY expensive road. There is no known cure, either, once you've started.

And one final word: Be suspicious of wild horsepower claims. There is LOTS of misinformation around.
