PIPES 748 bp 45ml

hi there im thinking of getting some exhaust pipes for my 748 but like every buyer of them which is best for the bike noise isnt a issue just as long as it is not insanly loud, performance i would like to be better the bike has 17K on her and is going to be serviced in feb the bikes off the road at the moment so a nice long time for me to decide.

I have searched around and found many makes styles and PRICES ranging from the ebay 250 to ducati performance 1grand ones i have a budget of 500quid possibly 600 i have my eyes set on termis as that seems to be the pipe on everything ducati but i have been told to look at JHP racing ARROW and REMUS or are there any others that should be considered ???

When i make my mine up on the pipes i want is it better to change the chip? as i have been told buy my local ducati dealer (st neots motorcycles) that changing the chip is not needed really ? but if you all say it needs changing where and what do i get ??

hope to have some feedback asap

cheers

Paul.

Termi's are great, for that money yoy'll pick some up easily, JHp are also great. You should realy change your chip though, they aren't that expensive.

If you run a race can with a std chip and you use the throttle properly,
it is possible that the mixture runs so weak it damages the piston.
Oh, and performance goes too Weak mixture = weak power
It probably isnt a good idea to use a dealer for servicing if they say you wont need to change the chip.

I have 45mm open Termis on my 748 and a guy on here sorted me a Ducati chip matched to the exhaust for £15, the bike had a chip change when I bought it but I could not find out what spec the chip was so decided to err on the safe side.

The difference with the Duc chip is amazing, crisper, faster response, and also louder. My assumption now is that the original chip was incorrect for the exhaust set up.

I recently put 50mm Termis on my 916 and got a new e-prom from JHP, Fantastic sound and a little more performance.
Take your time when replacing the e-prom, I used a small e-prom tool, worked for me, make sure all the legs are in place and away you go.....

Hi mate, I've got a 748S, put a set of 45mm Termi's on, never changed the chip and she has run fine for the last 18 months. Not one stalling, no flat spots, doesn't run hot or cold, absolutely perfect. Sounds absolutely awesome, as confirmed by the Kent fuzz.

Ade.
