Question Whats this all about????
I have a tight spot on my chain, tight 15mm play, the slack part I can almost push 2 inches of link onto the under side of the swing arm (794s Black swing arm), I have a gold X ring renthal chain which is new (only about 500 miles)
I have put a mark on the chain at the tight point, I then do one rotation and the same mark is now the slack part. I then do another rotation and it becomes the tight point again. The wheel is in straight, the sprockets are also brand new. what is wrong here?
help please

Is it the right chain for those sprockets? eg 520 chain on 525 sprockets.

Are you checking the chain with the bike on a paddock stand or just moving the bike which will put chain under tension, also is the wheel spinning free?

Sounds like the spockets aren't matched centrally possibly the front

Could be the front sprocket on the wrong way round.

Thanks for your coments, the chain and sprockets were fitted by Ducati only 2 months ago, done on a paddock stand, wheel turns freely.
But just found the problem, the brand new Renthal rear sprocket was elliptical my 1mm, how this happened I dont know
