got caried away.... (now finished)

was only gonna do a slight strip down and clean but ended stripping down to a bare frame

most things are now degeased just gotta do a front calipers and clean and service engine ,thought it would be better to do belts and valves as its out ,only done 4000 miles ago but might as well do them, never done a duke engine before so am a bit concered about what i will find.....frame /subframe are of to mate tomorow to be powder coated black and wheels and headlight housing hopefully next weekish.

Going to change shock as its a bit corroded and its a sachs unit thought it should have been showa

apart from some deep gauges on swingarm where a previous owner previous owner didnt know how to adjust chain it is ok chain and sprockets are new but cacked in lube ,good clean and its a did gold 520 pitch chain is that what its supposed to be????

will post any new pics when frame is back and will post one of swingarm bit concerned about this but should be ok.....

Simon

My 748 is in the garage cleaner and tricker than the day it was built. But my daily ride the Numptystrada is disgusting.

Think the 748e came with a Sachs, mine did, got a Showa off ebay for it.

ooooooh that's one DIRTY swingarm mate... or maybe i'm a fussy sod when it comes to being cleaned

I had the black frame on my last 916, looks pretty nice actually, but only if you have black wheels.... funny enough... i have black wheels at the moment i'm trying to get ride of

my 748bp

Finally got it back together as I have got time off as it's Easter. Very chuffed with the end result, could do with a new shock and fasteners coz they are corroded but they can wait till they appear on ebay for a REAL price!!

Thanks to DAVE996 for the pic's as mine went AWOL - they saved me NO END of hastle and time! Cheers

Thanks M1KEYP for sending me a fairing screw as I had to drill one out - CHEERS!

Probably not to everyones taste - but that life!

Cheers Simon
