After a bit of hunting i found a reasonable match
It is actually called Brass.

wilkinsons £2.19 Brass ( B33 ) made by Plasti-Kote

see the picture shows my caliper before paint, after paint, and a clutch m/c to compare.

Looks a good match that beek, on the subject of paint what is the best paint to use to touch up the spring part of rear shock and also parts of engine casing? The paint to the shock spring looks like enamel type to me.

Hi,
Try RS Motorbike paints. There paints can withstand temperatures upto 200centigrade. I have a monster 1000 and sent then a piece of flaked off grey engine paint and they matched the colour. With weathering etc there are a variations of greys on the engine but the ready to use (RTU)with air brush paint I received is an excellent match. Ideally you should also purchase the two part primer which is an acid etch and the two part lacquer for finishing. The matt lacquer is better as it can handle higher temperatures than satin or gloss.
