S4R Broke - any ideas ?

Bike broke down today..started coughing and farting and then started acting like it was running out of petrol. Pulled in..stank of petrol..and when you tried to start it, smoke came out of the silencers and fuel was spewing out of the joints in the exhaust....?? Any ideas before I go an lay into it !!!!! ?

How come you say TPS Nigel?? have u had problems with ur tps on a s4r to?

Reason I ask as mine has gone in to have tps replaced after the diagnostics said it was ok still but a test ride by mechanic confirmed summat was up.

Now tps's have been replaced but still not right so the ecu is being replaced to in mean time i get to play on an 06' black 999 pretty cool but id like mine to run well

Tried a new ECU tonight - still p****g petrol out so its not that...got a realyl bad feeling im gonna be off the road for ages with this as the dealers are chocka. Gutted.

Good call Mav certainly sounds like to much fuel is getting by the injector and if its not the ECU holding it open suspect a faulty injector and as Nat has tried another ECU I can't see that its been held open .

Update - good old Steve Hilary @ Moto Rapido has agreed to take her in for a look despite being chocka. Big big thanks to DUK too for agreeing to help out ..

Update...

Well, despite being absolutely chocka..those good old boys at Moto Rapido have sussed the problem..in just a week..!!

Busted injector...and unfortunatley you hav eto buy the whole throttle body assembly at about £900 !!

DUK have kindly agreed to sort it despite the bike just being out of warranty so big thanks to Wilf & Steve @ MR and Andy at DUK for saving the day...
