Not the best evening for some, eh Mr PayneP!

You know it's got to be made public Paul...

Diary of no.68
22 Aug 05

Session 1: buzzing round the circuit on one cylinder, need to put air filter on the front;

Session 2: newly fitted air filter gets sucked into carb and wedges butterfly open;

Session 3: carb is still hungry so decides to jump off in search for food;

Session 4:
nbs: "hey Paul, you got no bike, have a play on mine for the last session"
Paynep: "thanks dude, I'll be careful with it"
4 laps later and #34 GETS REDECORATED IN DRUIDS GRAVEL TRAP!

Hope you get yours sorted for round 5 chap, you've got to be my rear gunner!

I've only just picked myself up off the floor after reading this!!!! I can't believe you had THAT crap an evening, I knew it was bad though ...

I didn't know you dumped Pete's (Nick's, whatever ...) bike at Druids!

Sounds like you need a 620 mate

Well done Paul! Keep this up and there won't be any 620's left on the grid!

(In his favour it was getting very dark, the track was like a river, and he was on a bike with over 30% more power than our lowly 675s...... )

Damn, you've seen through my cunning plan - first Mike D, now Nick, Tim is letting me get his brakes repaired and I bet Dickie hasn't checked his rear wheel.......

But seriously, thanks to Nick for letting me "test" his bike and sorry for not being able to return it in the same condition.

However, riding a Monster 620 revealed a few things:

The injected engine feels SO much more responsive than a carbed one,
Twin four-pot calipers are OTT for such a light bike
I get far more feed back from the front end of my SS

So, I think the way forward for me is a 620 in my SS frame - but for now the CV carbs are going back on for Brands

Cheers, Paul
