Question Service books - paperwork, paperwork

Ducati seem to think that a bike has ended it's useful life after 5 years as the service book only goes up to 5 years? (at least thats how long my 998 one lasts)

What do people do when the service book is full of stamps? (not green shield or co-op or even those with the Queen on)

Just keep all the service bills in a nice folder?

More importantly as a buyer what would you expect to see service records wise on an older Ducati?

Ray.
