\'92 SL model number

Ciao

I own a '92 SL (N° 073) and I have one big question: wich is the SL model
number?

On the frame I can read ZDM906SC2 (followed by the S/N) and 53053B (italian
code, I think).
On a plate applied on the RH side of the frame I can read ZDM906SC3 and
53053EST01.

Is there anyone with the same "conflict"?
Wich is the correct model number?

Thanx

Teso

Hmmm, I dont think there is an answer to your question, cos the sl was simply a build option of the ss model.
The only place I have found which attempts to 'decode' the vin is:
http://www.ducati.net/faq.cfm?id=13
but it is by no means foolproof.
Remembe that the factory was (has !) never cash-rich, so always tried to use whatever stock they could get in, resulting in many bikes shipped with differeing specs, and even with parts that should have been rejected by quality control.
