Still a Ducati Owner...........but not a rider

Just thought I'd call in to the site to have a look around. Some of the old mob are still about.

Still got a Ducati sitting buried under clutter in the Garage but I've done what I've said I wouldn't do and left it unridden for about 5 or six years now. Every Spring I get fired up about recommissioning it and by autumn I've done nowt about it.

The handbrake thinks it needs converting into a kitchen, some mates say don't ever sell it, others keep pestering to buy it.

Heart has overuled head so far.

Junior has little interest in bikes but is the full petrolhead when it comes to four wheels
Been doing lots of car/motorsport stuff with him, so even if I did get the beast up and running I doubt I'd have any time to use it.

Will report back if this winter sees the 998 emerge from its hibernation.

Good to hear from you Ray!
The main thing is that she's still there and hasn't been sold; it may be on the back burner but the fire's still there

Cool

Good to see you are still around buddy. My obsession with Ducati has just got a little worse, 5 bikes so far!!

I will try and come and see you next time I am up North.

Hi Ray
I've not ridden either of my 998s for a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been riding several of my other Ducatis, the 1100 Monster gets the most use over the summer with the 800 S2R doing most of the winter work
Good to hear you still have the 998 and if you do sell it i'm sure any future owner will appreciate it

As long as you've still got it then there's a chance you'll play with it again.
After about 6 years of being in the fiscal doldrums and merely mincing about doing 1k a year, with a new job came a new attitude of not giving a damn so at the age of 55 i've done half a dozen trackdays this year, found the edges of the tyres and bouncing off the rev limiter! Yup, the bike needs a lot of tlc now but i've had so very much fun with it.
Hell, and indeed, yeah.
