Lets have a vote then

so enough of the same people saying the same things on this subject.
lets sort it out with a poll
all the action shots are out so what do you think
don't want multiple options "I like it but my 749R looks much better"
or "na don't like it but wouldn't mind some termi's on there"
its a goodun or a wrongun
lets see

Excellent Idea Keefer.

Do you think we should add;

1. Yes, I like it and will buy one
2. No, not my cuppa and will keep my 748/916/996/998/749/999

3. But will sell my ugly 999/749 and buy a Dnieper sidecar outfit!

Yes...I like it, but I like all Ducatis ! they all have their own styles and merits after all

just I like some more than others.........each to their own etc etc

In my fantasy garage I would like a 998R, 749R & a 1098/1198R please !

Question is ? is it all it should have been ?

no doubt the proof will be in the pudding so to speak !

Does it for me

and even better it might help make used 998's a bit more affordable as people swap for one!

I like the look of it - maybe not as radical as some expected and it does seem to be more of an evolution of the 916 shape than the 999's, but I can't wait to see it.

Will I buy one? It depends upon how it compares to the IL4s in terms of power and ability - I've got a taste for this stuff now.

Test rides???

Could be better but then it could have been a lot worse!

It looks very "Japanese" to me. Don't know why but all of Ducati's greatest bikes have a lot of art and sculpture in them, just "because".

The 998 to 999 transition went from a lovingly crafted piece of art into a functional motorcycle, and for the Ducati "tribe" (©Federico Minoli) I really don't think they liked it - too much of a revolution than an evolution of the design.

The 1098 now slots in as the real 998 replacement. They even allude to this by calling it the 1098 and not the 1099. Its more a thoroughbred child of the 998 than the b*****d son resulting from a fling with an R1.

Now it comes down to the price. That will be the real test.
