749r First Impressions

Well i have had the R for a week and 350miles (200 miles yesterday) and have to say i'm impressed with the handling generally. The bike is fitted with Diablo corsa's that worked well in difficult conditions combination of wet and dry.I cant wait for the 600miles running in to be completed so i can give it some welly!
The only difference i have felt so far compared to the 999 engine wise is i have to go down 1 gear more than i would have done.I decided at the time of purchase to lower the gearing by 1 less tooth on the front with a view to speed up the acceleration.I will let you know how i get on after the running in process
What are the views of other R owners?

Just wait till its run in mate, mines done 1500 miles and it flys!!!
Litre bikes need to be right on your tail coming out of corners with a fairly long straight then to have any chance of passing you,if youve got track possition then forget it ,even if they have a half a length on you the stopping power of the brakes plus the ability to turn on the brakes means that you've just got one very pi**ed of litre bike eating your dust,(i would hasten to add not with me riding but the son and heir).
the bike just seems to get better and better the more i use it and according to a couple of people in the know t,they both say its the best bike Ducati have ever produced!!
happy riding

I have gone from a 749s to a 749r in the last couple of weeks. My first impressions are:
1. The r turns much much quicker than the s
2. The difference in speed of revs is incredible
3. The all round Ohlins makes a huge difference

Got my first trackday on it on Friday (it's now run-in), so I'll let you know how that goes.
