It might be worth checking the distance from the plate to the inside of the face where the drum pushes. Sorry hard to explain but the way the slipper works is for the clutch drum to lift and contact the pressure plate pushing it away from the clutch plates and allowing slip. if the new plate is cut away too far inside the clutch won't slip cos drum can't push it conversely if its not as deep the drum will lift the plate early.

Put a straight edge across face of plate and measure down to just inside the teeth at a point where the drum should push, you'll need the same dimension off a 749R to check, using a DPP Bucci it might have different lift or ramps

getting my old one off tonight wen I get the bike back and taking both into machine shop tomorrow, that should sort it

Now how do I get the push rod out of the old plate ?
