Will standard 999 side panels fit with a R type nose !

Pass... The R nosecone is supposedly wider, but surely the frames etc are the same, in all honesty I don't know, be interested to know the answer

They should do but if they are pre 2005 the bits at the back of the panels will have to be cut shorter to clear the box section type swing arm

No , the standard panels have a separate black plastic air scoop cover , on the R the top of the side panels which covers the air scoops is all one bit left unpainted carbon , it has a small lip which locates on a tab on the bottom of the top fairing at each side , as JPM said , the top fairing on the R is also wider so you will have a mismatch

The lower rear of the panel is the same though , the swing arm difference only affects the underside turn of the exhaust.

Well i managed to fit 03 999s side panels to my 04 999r (box section swing arm) without to many problems.I did have to use some spacers to miss the swing arm and remove the plastic air intake cover (3 screws) to fit to the standard "r" front panel although does not look preety but for track day bodywork who cares,i'm fortunatley however to have an 03 front panel as well so dont have to remove the plastic air intake covers if i put the complete bodywork on.

Have ordered skidmarx's side panels impregnated red, with a black impregnated belly pan.
