So what's the issue with using the fingers and allen-key method ?
As long as you have a couple of go's getting the feel right, you'll be fine.
It's faaaaar more important that the tension on _any_ belt is a fraction loose rather than a fraction tight.
I've never used a tensioner-tool.

Have you done the belts yet ?

If not I've got a Facon tool you can borrow.

I live near Headcorn, so not that far away.

If you've not seen it, checkout my belt change page:
http://www.tassell.co.uk/belt_change.htm

Just done the belts on my 916 for the second time. Changing the fuel filter and cleaning the air filters at the same time.

I got mine from Ducati Ashford, AKA Motorline.

Part number D73710031A, total cost for 2 including VAT = £68.09
(I got some discount off the normal price, DOC, BMF, IAM, MAG etc)

Plus you also want 2 wavey washers for the tensioner pulleys.

As long as you are not in a hurry, it's quite easy. The worse bit for getting it wrong is the actual belt timing, but if you mark the belts up and make sure you have all the timing marks right, it's not that bad.

Mark the old belts before you take them off, just to see how it works. Liquid paper is best.

The thing that takes longest is moving all the wires out of the way.
The first time I did it I found I also needed to replace the connector on the 2 yellow charging wires, as per the pictures, but in the long run that saved a break down later on :-)

A friend of mine had his done by someone over your way, for what I thought was a reasonable price. If you are uncertain about doing it yourself I can find out his name.
