Just had an email from a mate who was out camping at the weekend when his wife found a digital camera out in the woods!

They haven't got their (normal 35mm) pics back yet and unfortunately the batteries were flat on the camera they found, but he sent me the pics off it now he's home as they show some of the places they had a look around.

Some awesome pics in here - 32 in total so sorry about the size of this thread already!

WOW!...Hope you dont mind Antonye but I've copied some of them...some the arrangements are very reminiscent of Andy Goldswerthy. I love the juxstoposition of natural and manmade in the stop sign pic.
(Oh! NO! my arty fartiness just slipped out didn't it?:o)

Oh,well...The pics are amazing anyway!

Love the tower pics...and pic 9 is stunning.

Beautiful pictures...

I hate to be the ' goody two shoes ' amongst us, but I hope your mate is going to make some attempts at trying to find the rightful owner of said camera !

That could be some art students work for a very important project leading to their qualification !

I know how p'd off I would be if I had lost that camera and I would hope that the finder of it would try and find the rightful keeper !

Sorry to bring the mood down :(

Bloomin ace photographer nevertheless and just where are those woods ??? I would love a good old scout round that ruined building... How spooky did that look ?? :alien:

Uhm...not quite sure which dodgey site you got this from Antony!! LOL

Pic 5: Figure RHS of shot
Pic 8: Cardboard cut-out monkeys in tree (x3)
Pic 9: Ditto x4
Pic 10: Something in the middle of path ahead (those bloody monkeys again)!
Pic 17: Figure in ground floor RHS window
Pic 18: Figure in wood to left
Pic 19: Monkeys in tree (again!) and spoooooky eyes in dark area bottom left.
Pic 25: Figure in reflection (ET?)

The most scarey of all is that bloody great hand that appears in pic 24....

Very poor!

I echo HellsBell's sentiments Antonye,

I reckon those pics weren't from a digital 'snappy' but a full blown SLR. Those things don't come cheap as I have just discovered myself.

Someone will be a very upset little bunny at not only losing their camera but their images.

Having said that......I guess your mate's wife must have found the whole bag cos to download the pics from the camera you'd need the ancilliary leads that won't be standard to all cameras. How'd you lose or leave behind a full camera bag in the first place is my question????

"One Careless Owner...."

Has the discovery been logged with the police? You'd be able to tell the date it was left by the dates on the original images when you download them (right click on viewed image and select 'Properties').

If not claimed in a set period of time the camera will be your mates to keep.

Pic 5: Figure RHS of shot - I see that too..

Pic 8: Cardboard cut-out monkeys in tree (x3) - Yep, those too

Pic 9: Ditto x4 - Cat/Owl and "spider" cutouts

Pic 10: Something in the middle of path ahead (those bloody monkeys again)! - Looks like a dog ot a pile of logs...

Pic 17: Figure in ground floor RHS window - yep :smug:

Pic 18: Figure in wood to left - yep :smug:

Pic 19: Monkeys in tree (again!) and spoooooky eyes in dark area bottom left. - ooh scary :smug:

Pic 25: Figure in reflection (ET?) - Not mocked up at all... :smug:

A lot of the added extras look like bad photoshop efforts, instead of stragegically placed cutouts.

But some look like those dodgy cats with glowing eyes my in-laws have to keep cats of their lawns.

The tower looks like the sort that are ten a penny in North American forests, but I've not seen a single one in the UK.

Guido, if they really did find a camera......They could have just pulled out the memory card. No leads required.

For such a talented photographer...why did he take a picture of his own hand opening a door:bouncy:

...and what was on the other side...lo and behold...ET:lol:

Got a funny feeling that they were not taken in this country although the building looks English.

Antony, as no one has guessed where your mate was walking, are you going to reveal the location?

antonye
06-Sep-2004, 11:11
He's in the States - hence I didn't say to start with as I doubted anyone would know where it was!

I believe it was somewhere near Woodstock?

Would this be your mate then?

Am I missing something here?

rockhopper
14-Sep-2004, 14:43
I think i am as well! The thread on that other board is 56 pages long about those photos.

My modem has been sitting in their Notts depot since the 8th of sept! No card through the door to say they had tried to deliver (twice). Will hopefully be delivered to work tomorrow.

antonye
14-Sep-2004, 14:45
Sounds like you have the same problem as me with Parcel Farce!

Get the tracking number from the company who sent it to you and then you can arrange to go and pick it up from the depot. Luckily for me it's less than a mile away, but you may not be as lucky.

...and yes, you are missing quite a bit :D

Its all done Antonye, spoke to them today and they are going to redeliver to work. Problem with home is that we live down a lane thats difficult to find. Carriers often dont even attempt to find us and just take it back with them. The depot is 40 miles away|!
