.. just had a very satisfying hour putting new front brake lines, reservoir and bits and pieces on the 916. Still a lot to do including polishing the pipes, changing all the bolts to stainless, sorting out all the wiring and clutch plumbing, etc. Loving every minute :roll:

Anyone else fettling at the moment? If so, how yer getting on?

Yes...finally got round to repairing the damage from caddy in August.
Have taken all the stickers off. Sanded and repaired the fairing...replaced the velcro fastening from the number plate and bolted it on.
I was hoping that it would be done for the meet tomorrow but now he has his clothes off there's so much more that I want to do to the 750...bolts need replacing, bits need sanding...Sigh
He just looks so naked in the kitchen...bless him:(

yep doing quite a few things this winter as you can see. :o
frame and swingarm to be painted Black, suspension overhaul. well when i pick up the new ohlins front forks.
and a few other bits and peices i havent thought of yet.

Loving it though. these bikes are so well designed for taking apart.
Hope i can remember how to put it back together. :puzzled:

Currently stripping and lining a tank I got cheap so I can then paint it black. Then comes the classy Ducati font in the same style as a '74 750SS. And finally finding a single seat that looks "right".

Vented and re-sprayed the front fender/mud guard, fitted a grill to my carbon V piece looks great. Nothing like you Keefer thats what you call an overhaul

I am upgrading the brake and clutch master cylinders. Calipers. Getting the suspension re valved.

Getting the wheels powder coated. And adding a few other bits and pieces.:devil:;):burn: e Bay is a wonderful way of getting nice bits for the bike at LOWER prices.

Just fitted the drop dead gorgeous Brembo GP calipers! These really are a wrok of art, and machined from solid billet. I STILL can't work out how they machined the piston pockets! Unfortunately the carbon matrix pads I fitted for the track squeeked like hell when I had a quick blat up the road on Saturday - sorry hofficer I promise to fit road legal bodywork and number plates before I do it again!

Pulled the top of the TZ, checked the pistons, rebuilt it, balanced the carbs, put the fairing back on, cleaned it, polished the frame and swing arm.............just so that WJB can thrash it and make it all dirty again at the weekend.:lol:

they go back together really easy i did mine last winter i only had a few problems with the loom but nothing looking at it for a few hours didn't solve

if in doubt stop and have a coffee/beer taht should help you put it back together

rear wheel is out and will probably get both powder coated black...rear shock out for rebuild...zorst completely removed to be polished (having a go myself with one of those home kits..anyone know a good local polisher for when it goes wrong??)...rear brake pedal off, got to find an engineering co to make a new lever for me...then replace most of the bolts as they are really furred...still to come remove forks and have them reworked to match my style/weight

...but unlike others I DON'T enjoy it:(

I'm spending the winter painting and stickering up my track day bodywork.

I intend to leave it on all year next year (it has light cut-outs) and to save the standard kit from stones, garage doors etc etc.

Then there's the rear suspension to sort - I have raised the ride height and now the spring seems pretty solid! I'll back off the pre-load and see if I can reintroduce some sag!

Hmm,I was in the garage earlier today,....lifted the cover on the 999,.....yup still there.Hopefully I'll get a couple more ride's on her before the tax runs out at the end of the month.Then it'll be Multistuka time..........................!:D

The Superlight is getting new floating discs, mark IV oil temperature kit, new carbon mudguard and clutch cover and a rather nice 3 spoke Marchesini rear wheel in gold (unfortunately couldn't source a front.....)
