On the basis that there appears to be a lot of IT bods on this board, I am making the following request.
do any of you guys have or have access to, storage and tape devices, dead or alive.
I am getting low on all type of hard disks, array units and all types of tape drives, especially DLT/SDLT/AIT/LTO etc, dead or alive in any quantity.
If anyone can help out let me know, this is a part of my business, so could do a good deal for the right kit.
U2U me or email me.

cheers
robin

I may be able to get hold of 36GB disks, they're not in too much demand these days - or are you looking for a full array type solution?

I can possibly get hold of some 36Gb, 18Gb, maybe some 9Gb SCSI discs for RAID arrays

Might also at a push be able to get hold of DELL PERC Raid controllers, and possibly a 40/80Gb DLT1 drive (external)

Either all new or used, but in good working order

It's alright Robin, I'm just giggling at all this equipment coming out of the woodwork.

I needed a server built yesterday in a hurry for some DR testing I've been doing all bloody weekend (another story) and no-one could get their hands on disk! Oh the irony ...

It was politics though, not the lack of disk kicking around ...

And having a laugh because I know who Freak works for, the same company works in here ....

I know someone who collects old and dead hard drives. They often have a life time warranty on them so he ships them back to Seagate or whoever and they send him a brand new drive with twenty times the capacity for nothing which he then sells on ebay!

:D

I've got three EMC Symmetrix (DMX) two .. what are they worth to you?

We would have to arrange a delivery location and time for them before I 'picked them up' you understand.

What about a powderhorn, there's one of those in the store too waiting to be deployed, I mean decomissioned
