A question about steering dampers. I have a 2003 s4 with the cast type raised bolt on handlebars and i was wondering what sort of steering damper could be fitted. My 900 had a compact underneath one which was great. But went out on the s4 and very nervous front end. I have seen a number of bikes lately with the top mounted dampers but these seem to be m1000 and they have proper bars. Will thes type fit the s4 if so I may be able to get one on Factory trip if lucky. Help if you can.:puzzled:

You can get the top mounted type for the S4 Albie, but the brackets are different for each bike. Ask uncle Natty nicely and he might be able to find one for you!

Cheers Mutters..Yep..can get you a pukka DP Carbon transverse adjustable one like Mutters and mine for £285 (list at £430..gulp!!)

If your feeling really creative and have contacts who can fabricate brackets, Ive got some 9** DP carbon transverse ones coming in next week which I can sell you for £175...im pretty sure the damper itself is the same.

Pic of my damper attached..

As Berto sez..a dampers a must..you think youve got problems now..wait till the spring when you start giving it some !!!

Cheers
Nat

Also check out spareshack they had some that fit on the side of the bike between the frame and forks. Rob had one and said it did the deed for him.

not when you save £170.00 on buying a top mounted dp one. That money saved will buy some nice disc brakes like yours .:D
