Great news,JHP-DUCATI COVENTRY have indeed signed up for the series (the first dealer to do so) and i am pleased to let you lads and lasses know that a joint two man team will run ,although seperatly funded,under the JHP-Ducati Coventry banner.
The bikes will be ridden by Dave Reilly (parts manager @JHP)and Chris Butcher (blacksmith of this parish) and although not fully confirmed yet its 99% certain that they will be riding.......
620 MULTISTRADA'S !!!!!
I will ,of course ,keep you posted on any news .
Happy racing .

I'm not sure that is such good news to be honest. If i was entered into the series i would be kissing goodbye to any slim chance i had of doing well simply becasue they can throw almost unlimited amounts of money at the bikes compared to what i could afford.

"seperately funded" seem to be the key quote here.

and it could be very good for the series if JHP were going to bring the huge truck of spares that they brought along to Cadwell - at every round.

I think not. If any of the races clash with supersport races, I think they will be a little pushed. Maybe more like a van than a truck. Saying that David Reilly was at TA3 with a van full of spares and helped me out with a new brake lever.

good, I agree... I'm sure my 675 big bore will have a lot to say with 79.9bhp :lol:

I felt a bit negative about this too at first........

don't forget as Monty has already said the riders get the points, therefore the most either can gain is 50% of the first places and the chance of that happening I would suggest is very slim, we aleady know that Dave Reilly is a crasher and are'nt blacksmiths portly chaps with large hammers:)

Nah, bring it on and lets turn up the wick :devil::devil:

Guys - we're in safe hands ;

With the boys at the top - Monty, Chris B et al - sorting this, I'm sure that they won't allow any entries that defeat the initial intention, of cheap, competitive, fun racing, to be diminished by any entry.

I think an eclectic mix of machines and riders can only add to the spectacle.

Now where's that website - www.turbosformonsters.com !!!! :saint::saint::saint:

Good point - the rules don't exclude the use of turbo's or superchargers - do they ? - induction is "free" ..................

and I know Mr. Spalding was experimenting with a supercharger on an ST2 last year, now where did I put his number...................

cue post from the organisers banning the use of superchargers and turbo's.......

cue post from the organisers banning the use of superchargers and turbo's....... -I seem to recall Mr Bushell stating that 'The final rules will be posted out to everyone in early January' so you see you've jumped the gun and warned us of your dastardly plan-oh and by the way Mr Spalding is on the technical committee.....................;)

in the interest of community spirit ;) and in view of the impending ban I'd thought I share my devilish plan.....

old 600ss with a 680 kit plus.........

"Supercharging is quite possible on the Ducati, in fact there was a German team who ran a very successful turbocharged 916 a few years ago. For road use you could expect up to 35-40% more power with a properly designed set up.

Now the down side; The only new supercharger I know of small enough for the 600 is the Opcon Autorotor at about £1800+. There are a few old designs around such as the Marshall, but I guess finding one in good condition is unlikely. There is the Shorrocks of course but they can be quite expensive and are a bit fragile, more importantly they are very bulky. Expect to pay up to £800 for a really good unit. You can pick up an Eaton as used on the new Mini for as little as £150, but then again these are very long and may cause problems. Modifying our Mercedes Eaton has proved very trying to say the least! Really the Eaton and Shorrocks are a bit big for road use and would need to be underdriven I suspect.

On top of the supercharger you will need to budget for low compression pistons, making the supercharger drive and manifolds plus a suitable carb and ideally some dyno time to set it all up."

Guess thats nearly 90 horses - want to hand over the prizes now boys :devil::devil::devil::devil:
