I've got ntl broadband (no sarcy comments please!) and have a wire going half way around the world to get to my loft where the puter is. I have seen these wireless network kits - anyone know if I could use with ntl set top box and standard type puter? what would I need and is it difficult for a non techy person?
thanks:)

Really easy mate.
Best suggestion is to pop into your local pc world and buy a home networking kit. They cost around £130 for wireless and are easy to install.
Easy enough for me anyway, and thats easy!

Right you should have a cat5 cable coming out of the back of your set top box, basically buy a wireless router, netgear wg834T (that's off the top of my head) and a wireless network card, PC Card/PCI card depending on if it's a laptop or desktop, bit of jiggery pokery and away you go.
That's put in really simple terms, if you want any more help just ask

Bradders, I've got 3 computers running off a wireless network. If you wanna pop round and have a look how it works, you are welcome.
I use NTL as well.

I use a Linksys router plugged into my ntl box downstairs with a Netgear reciever which plugs to the computer via USB.
Cost, about a year ago, was £80 for the router and £30 for the receiver.
Easy to install too.
