Hey guys

About to attempt one of those fender vinyl Corse stripe kits from ebay.

Has anyone fitted one with a degree of success?

I'm not even sure how it'll look, but I figured it would give me something to do

btw the bike is red with a DP carbon fender

I know of a couple of guys that have them fitted. Just make sure its clean and pre mark it with felt tip before you start. That way you won't have a wobbley or off center stripe.

Take the back off first. Cut in two down the middle and put it back on to the vinyl. Peel it back from the center out towards the sides.

you can put it on with water and a bit of fairy liquid in it !

then slide and position and when happy use a credit card to expell the water out from underneath it !

if you have never done it b4 get someone who has !

it can be tricky !!!!!;)

It's the little outer stripes that would appear to provide a nice opportunity for a f***-up! :rodent:

water and liquid is a top idea, i watched the guys do my van, with the liquid they could move the design around quite a bit to get it perfect.

I did it on my fender, its a pain in the arse to do, definately use water, becasue if you dont once it sticks and u need it off its basically shagged! took me a couple of hours and a extra pair of hands!!

to get the final finish !

you will need either a scotch bright pad or 1000 wet&dry paper

remove fender from bike

lightly flat red on the fender

wipe over with damp meths cloth

spray with clear accrilic laquer !

presto major bling

sticker will never come off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1;)

Try using window cleaner!
Spray a light mist on the area, position the decal and leave for a while. Once the window clean has evaporated the decal will be stuck. Works for me

Chrisiball,
your bike looks a right shed..... or is it part of your shed?

I dunno about that idea Animal...

Granted, the decal appears to be very neatly fitted but I am concerned about the effect that window cleaner seems to have had on the paintwork ..

It appears to have faded to a strange yellow colour from the original vibrant Italian red :o:lol::o:lol::o:lol:

On a more serious note. I am in the fortunate position of working for a company that has its own bodyshop, once i persuade someone to fit it for me things should be plain sailing from there.. I'll let you how it works out.

I've stuck one of the stripes on mine. Like everyone has said make sure you use plenty of soap water and I'd suggest getting a massage or sauna and play some calming music first because you need to be stress free while your doing it :sing:
Other than that just take it nice and steady and squeeze the water out with the visa.

tricky.
