I dont know if these idea's have been floated.?

Suggestion 1

Every rider offers a small Biop on motorcycle history, bikes age started and relevent track race history..this would be great in the Pronto issue in April i think.?

Suggestion 2

We nominate 1 person to give a race report after every race and get that also printed in Pronto, may i suggest Peter "Fordie " Ford perhaps as he will be at the race meetings . " Forides track side report " as an example.

Either way i think these idea's have merit and will bring the Desmo Due off the board and out to the masses in a printed format and give the supporters a chaptered race series.

what do you guys think

Phil.

Good idea, Phil. I'm happy to write a bio and a race report.

It's something I was planning on doing.

What about the rest of you horrible mob.

Both good 'uns.

Any idea who we send the Bio to? How many words?

Fordie: Getintheremyson! You'll need a thesaurus though to look up variants of the word 'nutter'........

Already done a Bio should appear somewhere sometime, also done a few race reports in my time so I can't see a reason to change that.

I've just updated the other thread ! - basically the website is being transferred onto the DSC webserver and should be operational in about 2 weeks time.

Boys,

Whilst I would suggest that we would put results and points standings up on the WEBsite, the write ups should go into Pronto.

Please send all copy to:

Pronto
PO Box 66
Tenterden
Kent
TN30 7WB

or

Pronto@ducatisportingclub.com

Boys,

If we can get a short biography of each of the 32 entrants that have entered so far, I will ask the editorial team if we can put them into the next Pronto, as a warm up to the series.

was going to suggest the same myself phil, about a rider profile in the next pronto. A mugshot with the usual details alongside about name, age, bike, team, sponsor, etc... and a paragraph underneath, a brief riding history.

Not sure what kind of race reports i'd be able so provide - maybe i'll just photocopy Dickies?

Quit with the negative vibes, Dickie!

Where's your aggression, determination, blind faith that you're good enough? Come on, man. You know you love it and you'll be fighting your way to podium place or die trying.:P:frog:

(maybe that last bit wasn't so helpful ...)

at least you can run yours in Dickie!

I dont know how much running-in these big bore kits are going to take - has anyone thought about this, in timescale/mileage yet??

anyway, just in case they could be late in arriving, AK took his new 'scrapheap challenge' to the garage today - and lo & behold - it passed an MOT!!!!:o - so coupled with the bit of tax on it - he has another road bike, not the 748 he really wanted tho.

I was thinking of 1 person to offer up an insiders view of the race the pits the whole event etc..rather than all of us offering up our own race reports........

thoughts.?

Sounds reasonable Phil - perhaps we need a standard bio form that can be completed for each rider? - then when anyone's report gets printed up, it can be prefaced by the individuals bio?

And got bumped off the track during qualifying by Tony & Antonye. I wondered why they had two bikes. Oh well I'll drink a few bottles of red wine and grow those rubber lips.

Looks like there'll be a lot of pages in the next Pronto!

Is someone going to 'volunteer' to collate everyone's info and put all in the same format? My suggestion (similar to dickie's) is like...

<mugshot>
Name:
Team:
Sponsor:
Bike:
Number:
Age:
Weight:
Height:
Home Town:

Brief bio:

I also have an exxpanded version waiting for the DD website to come back on line... with some Q&A's.

But we need a co-ordinator!! I'll volunteer if nominated, but it's Fil2's thread so I nominate - Fil2!

We should aim to get this in for the April issue of Pronto before the first meeting.....

i think it would be best not to post up the info on here, but gather it all up and publish all at once in pronto. That way there's no messy thread with comments mixed in, and a bit of a surprise in pronto.
And if any racer dude isn't on the site they'll need to be contacted...

I have created another POST to bring out onto the forum..maybe its a good idea we centralise the info off line then forward to pronto.?

I think the race report would be best being written by a non-competitor (im sure you lads will have enough on your minds!) and for that reason i go with Fordie (god knows he needs the practice) .
Maybe after each round we may be able to get an entrants views ,could be an interesting view on how you looked at that first courner !

"NBs went into the first corner, eyes bloodsoaked with red mist, the track was clear ahead but i'll bet he wishes he'd taken the mirrors off..."

...and that's just the practice session!
