View Full Version : Cheeky Brands Indy anyone?
I wouldn't mind a run out at Brands Indy if anyone fancy's it.
Ideally I'd want to do it in March, but not after the 18th or so or April after the 12th or thereabouts (Bike is going to Spain and back). Although I'm doing Cadwell on the 23rd of April and DD round 1 is the weekend after!
So, who's up for it??

Might be tempted with an early April one?
Early March is just that - "early" - bit too early to be mincing around a UK track I reckon.
Its alright for the hardened Northern soles (that's Britain not hemisphere!!!) who are used to "bein downt pit" or "getting op before gowin t'bed" etc, etc.. but for a soft southern, handbag swinging, shandy drinkin' bastid like me - its Southern Spain in March for me!!!!

Dickie and I are looking at doing Brands on Good Friday. Has the advantage of not needing to take a day off work

JPM, get yer arse down south, stay at Chez Dibble and do Brands ...... you know you want to ... stop playing on those kiddies circuits up north, come and do a real one .......
Going to those northern circuits must be the equivalent of having a slot car racing game that ISN'T scalectrix .....
April too early is not good, I'll be in Spain 1,2, and 3 of April and the bike won't get back here until a week after that.

I just booked on March 6 at BH Indy with Focused Events at £125.
Hope to meet some of you there (or this Sunday Feb 20th at Silverstone Nat'l with 100%bikes - thanks to rattler again for the spindle!)

I gonna try and sneek a Cadwell in late March too.

Bolux - I was quite happy looking at Cadwell for Good Friday and you have to throw that in!!!
I do need to practice Cadwell though, but Brands is a lot closer!!!

Nah - Saturday's are out - family responsibilities, I've already had to re-arrange a few weekends this year though.
I am doing the ESS at Brands on April 4th - might have to go and see WJB at Cadwell on Good Friday then.
Dibbs - I'm no longer a man with a van, I've got a bank loan to get a trailer and tow-bar.
This racing milarkey is costing me a fortune !!!! ;) I'll have to sell the Picasso :o:o:o
oh well .... anyhow, if u ever need "night before" accomodation for Brands just shout mate, you've helped me out enough in the past .... :D

No way - I'm taking the 620 and proud of it - they may take me down the straights, but come the glorious gooseneck - I'll embarrass the hell out of 'em. - Yeh baby!!!
The ZX is only for Spain - I'm gonna put it back to standard in March I reckon and flog it - I just can't see myself using it at all. This DD stuff is real addictive!!! How can I justify using the ZX on the tracks when there's DD to practice for????;)

It's SOOOOO much closer!
Just got off the phone with Focussed Events, Brands Indy on the 25th of March is a goer.
:D
And I've just updated the track day calendar - well, after Antonye approves them the events will be visible.
So far I have booked:
March 25 - Brands Indy, Focussed Events
April 23 - Cadwell, Focussed Events
May 18 - Castle Combe, Castle Combe Racing School (track day though, not a school)
And the CSS 2 day camp in Almeria, April 2 and 3.
That's it for track days at the moment. Obviously there are all the Desmo Due race meets I'm doing as well.
Update the TD calendar!

I was just going to tell you that we aren't AT Cadwell until Easter Sunday and Monday-but that is racing and having checked I find that WJB is at Cadwell on Good Friday. Nice to know my rider is getting a bit of practice in before the racing..........;)
As to the 'being embarrased by the bigger bikes riding a 620 in the fast group"-according to my information-those who were at Cadwell on the 11th were embarrasing the bigger bikes. One rider of a RSVMille Factory sound of thunder bike having been well thrashed was heard to ask 'that is a 1000cc Monster isn't it?' when informed it was only a 620 he was well embarrassed-couldn't keep it in sight apparently.:lol:

3 and a bit weeks 'til the first outing on track for the monnie and I've got so much to do with it! First I've got to take delivery, then drop it off with the #34 Grease Monkey. It sure is going to be a hectic couple of minutes for me.

Don't know if my DD will be rebuilt or ready in time, but we'll see. If not I'll take the 748 to learn the track, as it will all be useful time.
