If you were getting worried about the new breed of slippery salt that some councils have been using this winter, take a look at this : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/file_on_4/4278419.stm

:o

As an aside, does anyone have any idea whether the suface used on tracks (Donny for instance) is significantly more grippy than public roads??

Cheers,

Ali

The way our council works around here, it would be nice to get any type of new road surface............

Strange and not unnexpectedly, these concerns are not new and the government still fails to do anything about it:
October 2004 (http://www.equinetourism.co.uk/bhssouthwest/stoneasphalt.htm)

In a cynical kind of way I doubt if anything will be done until either the Coldstream Guards fall foul of skidding horses or young master William (or is it harry) comes a cropper on his Triumph.

I'm pretty sure that your local ice-skating rink is grippier than Rockingham in the wet. A damp Brands Hatch Indy seemed fairly sticky to me, though.

Cadwell has always had the decency to be dry for me, and it grips like grippy thing in a death-grip :D

Someone sensible will be along soon, don't worry. ;)
