Ducati have this afternoon confirmed that Ben Spies will join Andrea Iannone in a Pramac-run sateliite team in 2013.

Must admit that Spies caught me by surprise - Iannone looked like he was heading for a seat somewhere.

Perhaps this puts a different complexion on why Spies "decided" to leave Yamaha?

It will be interesting to see whether the reliability of his Yamaha improves now Rossi has officially been announced.
