Snetterton race-best time 1min17secs,
brands indy- 53secs,
lydden- 47secs,
plenty more but have to dig out. its been so long since i have been on a bike...you could probably add another 15secs if i went around now!!:D
I've only done two track days and didn't have a lap timer for either of them. I am planning on buying one though ...

you wait until the end of this season of racing though mate.
you will be soooooo much faster without even trying!
That element of competiton and being 'pulled' along should never be under-estimated!:D

I'm in the same boat, but done more trackdays, I've now bought a timer for this year from www.rollcentre.com
So in a few months I'll have proof of how slow I am :)
yep. It made sense for the sake of a few quid extra. And if I start taking things seriously being able to download the data would be a real bonus.
It's about the size of a pack of 20 Marlboro, and after I'd ordered it they called to see if I wanted it for a car or bike fitment (don't know why though)

Nice one, cheapest price for a T200 I've seen too!

Exactly why I got the T200 now :)
Didn't bother with a beacon though.

i'm looking forward to trying to improve my times this year.
take brands indy, with 53's and 54's being branded about i really should be aiming for something like that but cant really see where i can save another 5 sec a lap from. that said i did trim it by 1 second on my last outing so if i just try and chip away at it maybe i'll get there. would love to get in the 56's this year on the indy circuit.

Is that 56's on the monster Dickie?

i wish..............will be interesting to see how i compare with the monster though. what do you recon it should be? 5 seconds slower? more/less?

Really depends on the type of rider and how much you are using the potential of your curtrent bike. I'd personaly not see much difference in pace whether I was on a 600, the 996 or the latest 1000cc beast.

The way I feel on my monster at the moment I reckon I'll be about half an hour slower per lap! Although I'm promised that this will change.
To be honest mate if you can keep your corner entry speeds up (easier said than done, I hope you like the front end of yours) I don't think you will lose too much on a circuit like Brands Indy. At somewhere like Donny I think you will.
I haven't been on these tracks so I don't really know, hopefully I'll have more of a feel for it in the next few months.
Do you remember what times you were doing at Almeria? I'll be there on the monster early april.

yes will be interesting to see, i guess if i get anywhere close to my 999 times with my monster then i need to push myself loads more on the 999.

didnt have my timer then. but would have been pants. only had 3 dry sessions. great track though. really liked it. very envious.
How the monnie's compare to our 'proper' bikes will depend on the track, as tp so wisely suggests.
Yet to be tested, but I reckon i'll be getting round cadwell quicker on the 620 than I did on me 996. Donny and Snet will be a different ball game tho.
Will be very interesting to check my cadwell times on Good Friday...
Mr S,
The difference between a T200 for car/bike is the length of the lead from the unit to sensor, car has a longer lead.
