Inner Fairing Panels Question

How are the inner front (around the rad) fairing panels on your 888/851 secured? I have two different options. One set have nice Rivnuts attached, the other have poxy spring clips pushed over the edge of the panels.

I was just wondering what was original?

I have the former Rob, which I believe is original..

My 1990 851 had the rivnuts and the panel was red, my current 1994 888 has the spring clip and the panel is black.
A case of Ducati reducing the manufacturing cost I think.

My 93 Strada has spring clips and is standard for year.

Spring clips for mine too.

Everyone is right. Up until 92 they were molded in nuts in red plastic. Late 92, so 93 bikes went to black plastic, slightly harder and with spring clips.
