The 600 Monster wheel came complete from a crash damaged bike, yesterday I put it into my 600SS and noticed I had a clearance problem with the sprocket nuts hitting my paddock stand mounts, as this doesn't happen with the 600SS wheel I wondered why it was a problem with the monster wheel. I found that the sprocket carrier on the Monster wheel had several more millimeters of sprocket offset as though it was designed with a 180 tyre in mind.
The part number on this sprocket carrier is 16010042A is there any way I can check to see if tis is the original M600 carrier.
Also while checking out the offset I noticed the coned spacer on the sprocket carrier was in the wrong way round once I had managed to dig it out I found a naffed bearing and circlip.

The coned spacer, now effectively coned on both sides, the pic is the side that should be flat.

Sorry Kev, yet another bummer.

The part number is just shown as a 'flange' on the spareshack listing and there are an awful lot of them in there.

Maybe try a posting on the monster O.C. website as well ??? Just in case that off-set is wrong.

Good luck - Frank

Cheers Frank, I was wondering if it was a carrier off a 900 model can't see as its for a 600 due to the chain alignment unless a 600 monster has a offset motor compared to the SS either that or the wheels run out of line :frog:

Just had to the www.duc.nu website and downloaded the 900SS manual
And on page 74 it has two items 21 lited fot the Rear Sprocket flange.

one is part No. 160.1.004.1B and the
other is part No. 160.1.004.2A

If this is the case how did it get fitted to a M reg 600 Monster ?

Kev,I crossref'd the part no.s and it looks like you have a sprocket carrier for a 900 Monster. The 600 Monster part no. is 160.1.019.1B(Model year 2000)

Cheers Keith that was the conclusion I was coming to.
Luckily I have the original 600SS carrier, I was hoping to use the monster one for quick gearing changes when at the race tracks.
