I need to trim down an MP3 file from 3.30 to about 30 seconds so that i can use it in my phone as a ring tone. Anyone know what i can use to do it (preferably free)?

Do you have nero as your cd burner software? If you do, do you have version 6. If not upgrade to version 6. When you launch Nero you will see an icon with two people at the bottom. Click on this and that will put nero in expert mode. Now click on the music icon and there will now be an extra program for editing music. You can open up your MP3 and highlight the section you want as your ring tone. It is just a simple case of either cutting or copying the selected part of the file and then paste it into a new project. Save the new file and there is your MP3 ringtone.
