find it hard to belive a bigger Duke dealership (Ducati Leeds / JHP etc) can't source 'em.

Our Nelly on here has loads of contacts:

or as a last resort a piston supplier / motor factors should be able to help.

If the oil control rings are one piece items, then unfortunately you can't get them anymore. They have been made obsolete.
I had a problem with a 900 customer with the very same problem.
The later 3 piece rings run in a thinner groove so you can use them either.

2 solutions. One is to get a hold of the later pistons and rings, or secondly use it as a good excuse to throw in some aftermarket hi-comp jobbies ;)
The latter would be a cheaper option i think.

Oh yes, the old piston rings-hunting game! That was probably me Nelly (for a '92 900). I gave up in the end and have popped the old ones back in. Woods Motorcycles in Abergele told me that Ducati had assured them that they'd be getting some 'any day now', but that was about 2 months ago.

You gave me the name of a tuner who's name escapes me. He was very helpful thanks.

Hi Nelly,

Thanks for the reply!

What is involved in the second option? Difficult or Simple? It's me a friend and a Haynes manual.

Still can't believe that mike bike is in danger of being pensioned off for the sake of a couple of bits of metal!
