dynojetted carbs

I just bought a 750ss dynojet kit from someone on ebay(sorry skidlids,I beat you to that one),Will it be easier for me to fit this to a spare set of carburettors that I have(originally 600ss I think) ,and to replace the whole assembly or should I fit it to the original carbs still on the bike.
I'm assuming that the different carburettors are identical apart from any differences in the jets-which'll be replaced anyway.

Probably, yes.

I serviced my carbs the other week and fitted the dynojet kit too. It was nice and easy to do it on the dining room table rather than in the dark on the garage floor!

Depending on the condition of your carbs, you may need to salvage parts from both to make a good one due to lots of problems with corrosion on them.

Give it a go and see how you get on.

dont think my wife would enjoy me stripping carbs in the kitchen Antonye ,but I might find some other corner of the house
...one other thing,it recommended the airbox be modified,does this mean just a freer flowing filter?,cutting holes in it? or just leaving the lid off?

I would fit them to the original carbs as the parts you change are the main jet and the needle , i'm not sure if the needle jet is on the same on both bikes or the air jet for that matter.

I was interested in the kit if it had been cheap enough to see how different the needles were to the 600s as the bigbore kitted ones may find a benifit from having a different needle profile
I wasn't going to bid to high as I have been picking up new 600 jet kits from K&N in the States for £15.40

You got to within 50p of my maximum bids skidlids,I had gone away for the day so didnt see the result till later that evening.
Dont know if I'll notice the difference really,but thought it worth trying,I need to be careful with what I'm doing though as while I can change a part easily enough I dont actually understand what I'm doing and any consequences arising....which has the occaisional potential to be very expensive.

I have a couple of K&N Filters coming over from the states when my mate next visits, one should be up for sale. If your interested U2U me for the price.

It came with a K&N filter Skids,I'll give that a try first.

The 600, 750 and 900 carbs are the same basic model but there are a lot of different size jets in there, depending upon model.
I'd fit the kit to the original carbs.

deffo go with Nelly's advice about fitting to the original carbs.

be careful with the bowl seals and diaphragms in case they stick to the carb body.

there might be a fuel filter in the inlet pipework that could be worth a clean.

there probably will be some nice gunge / water in the float bowls !!!

PDQ sell the proper cleaner K+N air filters

erm...finally - try and take some digi pics before and during work.......I found it quite helpful especially when routing the PIGGIN throttle cables once more :mad:
