Well I did about 130 miles today following my mate on his 929 blade.

Should I hear much noise other than the clutch, induction and exhaust, i'm paranoid about the bloody valvetrain/rockers.

Fu***em just ride the S**t out of it until its dead then fix it and do it again.
Forget the rattling just get on with the riding.
Don’t think about the rattles next time your out or it will bug you even more
Yes it sounds like a bag of ill fitting parts but it sounds like that every time so go on give it some abuse

its very difficult with the clutch to hear if there are any untoward noises coming from the head's.
I have run the bike up before without the clutch assembly and its amazing how quite it is (or isn't if its broken)

I draw breath through clenched teeth every time I ride without earplugs…so I try not too.
Three years old 12000 miles and absolutely nothing has bust (now touching all the wood I can lay my hands on);) as already said get breakdown cover and worry if and when.

Selective hearing must be the answer, it's cheap too.
Think i'll check the shims and stuff sometime anyway, can't be that hard now can it.

If it didn't make those noises I'd be worried!!!!

How many times have you had people come up to you and say "is your bike alright mate, it's making a lot of noise"?

I've had the old "Mate, I think your cam chain is loose" to which I've replied with a smile "It doesn't have one ;) "
