Anyone know where I might find a pair of unmarked (red) mirrors & a CF rear hugger to fit an 888? (Mirrors are the same as on the carbed SS models).

I've seen black mirrors on eBay - and would buy as a last resort - but would prefer not to have to match paint etc.

Cheers

Steve,
I came across this one on a business trip to Sweden, it's a general purpose car accesory dealer but they happened to sell the Duke mirrors;

www.biltema.se

They used to do the mirrors painted for about £15 brand new.
Dunno about the hugger tho......I'd be interested in one of them as well:burn:

New Huggers are available from Sandbar Composites. If you're interested I'll post his phone number.

Oh yes, they're £94.68 plus VAT and very nice quality.

Cheers guys..

Can't make head nor tail of that site though Neil. (Couple of nice washing machines on there though!)
In truth, my own bike's mirrors are quite decent - it's just that there's a certain amount of water damage in the lower edges of the glass. I've been thinking maybe I could just get the glass replaced? Not sure.

Rob - Yes, I'd like the 'phone number. Thanks.

i have a feeling that replacement glass is available in halfords as they also sell the "black" mirrors for around £13 which are exactly the same as the ducati items and they also do some spray paint for plastics -the red is a very close match if you wanna go that route

Steve,
I had the same problem on the SS with ater damage, stick them in the oven (dunno at what gas mark!) at about 80C and the adhesive softens enough just to be able to pull the glass away from the mirror without damaging the surround (or paint) and then stick the new ones in with some adhesive from a car bodywork place (for sticking trim on) called stay tack or something......

Turn on the cooker? That's asking a lot Neil. I'm a single bloke. 'Tis a woman's job, is that! (Will it work in the microwave?)

I'll have a look around Halfords on Saturday. If Monstermob's right, maybe I'll find some inspiration there. (There's no real panic to sort/replace these things anyway - I'm just at the start of a 'rolling restoration' on the SP, and will be renewing anything which looks a bit 'dog-eared'.

Cheers
Steve
