RUTH'SHOUSEWARMING PARTY HEMEL HEMPSTEAD HERTS.
I believe in starting as I mean to go on, so I want to get as many good vibes into this house as I can from the outset. Therefore, DSC members (+ friend/partner of your choice) are cordially invited to help me warm my house from 7 p.m. till late on Saturday, 9th April.
Anyone interested in attending, U2U me and I'll let you have the full address. I'm guessing this won't be oversubscribed as there are not that many people in the club within striking distance of Hertfordshire but for those coming from a bit further afield, if you want to sleep over, you are welcome to bring a sleeping bag and kip in the tent I shall be erecting in the garden. It should hold a reasonable number of bodies.
More if they are lying on top rather than alongside each other.
;):lol::lol:
Sorry, no children at this one. Will have a summer afternoon one to include kids.
PS Don't bring cordial, bring wine or beer. :sing::sing::sing:
PARTY

Yes, it's the game old bird's party - phrase first coined by Fordie and now apparently inscribed in stone!

Are you volunteering, Kev? It doesn't look like too hard a job and I have experience (was in the Brownies) but it's probably not something to attempt alone. I'm ordering it online today. I will need help putting it up, especially as I slipped walking home from work yesterday (on account of can't drive yet) and have put my arm's recovery back a few days by pulling my shoulder muscles - again! :rolleye:
Roof:o ta for U2U :)
however, forgot we have a long fixed dinner date - so cant come!!!:(
Hope you all have a lovely time - and looking fowards to the next invite, when my diary is free!

Oh NO!
I know it's short notice, but then the whole moving in thing has been short notice.
Oh well, just have to have a 2nd party for all the people who couldn't make the first one. Any excuse! :D:D
Not sure if I can make this, I'm doing a run to pick up my monster from CSS and my 996 from Nelly that day ... but hopefully I'l be back with plenty of time.

Excellent TP. I've just ordered the beer tent, on line. Not as big as I wanted but phoned the guy I'm buying from and apparently the 5 x4m tent won't fit in the garden! So I've ordered one that's about 3 x 2.82 - room to swing a cat and hold a pint at the same time, wouldn't you say? :D:D

Don't care about swinging cats ;)

That's ok, I haven't got a cat anyway. Just a dog, who isn't invited to the party as not everyone likes Dobies, and she doesn't like everybody.

How big is the racebus? There's a park just down the road within staggering distance if you're happy to park it slightly away from the house. Or park it in the road and upset the neighbours. Fine by me! :sing:

Are you offering to come over and help paint, then? I don't have any furniture until Wednesday though so can't offer you a bed. Hence getting the painting done whilst the place is empty. I'm not officially moving in till Wednesday. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to be surrounded by a few sticks of furniture before I can call it home! :D

Bump - just in case anyone didn't see this last week.
Should be plenty of food (unless ali gets there early) and wine and beer.
'Emel 'Emstead - practically a neighbour - cue the music..... (I'm in Tring)
Thanks for the advice about the BHC crew - they weren't as bad as you said........
Heard you had a few probs with the bike after the crash - let me know if I can help - got a fairly well equipped 'storage unit' - 800 sq.ft. with power light and heat (free electricity) and most tools for most jobs (not the exotic tho') including a compressor for those essential things like spraying fairings....
Let me know..
Cheers

That's lovely hooley.
But are you coming to my party?
:sing::P:sing::o:bouncy::roll::lol::o
Oh, and Monty. There's a private road just past my house which is perfect for you to park your race vehicle. Just OAPs living there so they won't be quick enough to get a complaint in before you've left.
Sorry Ruth - wedding plans (not mine thankfully) gotta go to one - and I'm driving a truckful of old codgers......think of me fully sober, for at least 7 hours at a wedding I don't want to be at and then driving all the Grandparents back home as a taxi service.......
Ars3.
Thanks for the invite...especially as you don't even know me.

hope all goes well ruthie...Wish I was there!:frog:
Mind you...these kinda parties, they aren't so good for teacher's credibility in the community!:frog:
Ruth has asked me to post up as her PC isn't set up at the new place, basically its too cold to camp (not sure if anyone intended to) but Ruthy has cleared space in the house and there should be ample sleeping bag space to go around ......
See you there ....
Betcha I'm not invited!!!
