What's the likely outcome of being pulled by un-marked volvo, being invited to watch the little telly inside said volvo, seeing some very good footage of your good self at speed and then being told that your average over a mile and a half was 103 mph...?,answers please ladies and germs !!,best and worst scenarios ??.Cheers all,Mogwai@mytrackbuddyisintheshit.com

Get a solicitor and hope you don't need a bicycle for a few months.
If there's anything other than just excess speed, such as crossing solid white lines or tailgating / cutting up other motorists or taking dodgy ovetakes then the bicycle will be necessary.

Cheers for the replies peeps, person involved already has 6 points for speeding, not looking good, says he'll just buy a dedicated track bike if he gets a ban,but some t.d. organisers are asking for proof of licence now.....

where was it too

i got done in avon/somerset territory and went to taunton court
was doing an average of 105.6mph and was told to expect £350+ fine, 2-3 month ban and i ended up with 14 days ban, 170 quid fine plus 35 quid court costs

all depends on your area and court on the day i think

Even if you get a ban you've still got a license so should be able to get on MSV trackdays easily enough

Get a decent brief, get all the evidence together, and as he's already got 6 points I'd say he's on for a ban no question, unless there's something a miss in the evidence I'd be tempted to plead guilty from the off, as admission of guilt would look good in the courts eyes, not great by any means but would probably reduce the length of the ban.

I had a same thing happen to me a few years ago I plead guilty and had a letter from my boss saying if I lost my licence I was of no use to him and he'd have to let me go. Ended up with a 7 day ban £100 fine. The other thing was that I had 4 points already but the 7 day ban cleaned it. Always pleade guilty but plead poverty and job relience on license as well.
