I'm fortunate to drive a rather nice car, sporty and expensive, thanks to work.

Downside of that is insurance premiums, which although are actually quite reasonable (it's my age :( ), I'd like to reduce.

I've tried:
Halifax (current insurers)
First Alternative (very close but more)
Norwich Union (20% more)
Hastings Direct (way off the mark)
Liverpool Victoria (no loading for hubby's conviction but still a little more)
Admiral (ouch)
More Than (wouldn't quote)
Direct Line (wanted a tracker)
Sainsbury's (very close but more)

Any other ideas? I might try Carole Nash....

Maybe try that faxing technique Lizzie?

You do tend to get better quotes out of companies than you do when you ring. And then go back to the company you like and ask them for the best quote at the end and see how you go.

Lizzie,

http://www.911virgin.com/insurance.htm

I used this list when I came within a gnats whisker of buying a 993 a few years ago (oooh the good old days ... lol) ....

911 Virgin is run by a guy called Henry and what his lot don't know about Porkers isn't worth knowing .....

Tescos. Insured my daughter's Mazda MX5 and my ex's ZXR at well below other quotes.

Or, swap your car for my piano and learn a delightful drawing room skill x :sing::sing:

I've been with elephant for the past five years. Nobody else can get near them on price for me.

A couple of mates with expensive cars EVO V11 / TVR use Adrian Flux and find them very competitive.
I actually use them for my tarmac blazing VW camper and they are cheap.
it actually breaks the speed limit when pushed off a cliff.

Tescos for me (group 20) I put a few mates onto them that had high group cars and they all got a better deal. Used to use Footman James a few years ago when I had an Evo6 that at the time most insurers would not cover.

The auto trader search engine has always proved to be the best solution for me in the past.
