That's funny, cos the rules linked to in this thread ( Desmo Due Racing Rules 2005) say both are allowed....

Page 2 in the Chassis section.

• Wets are allowed. (Safety issue)
• Tyre warmers are allowed.

That was the initial proposal before the tyre issue was decided. The rule has since been decided... no wets, no warmers.
There was an email sent round a couple of month ago.

Warmers sounds like a safety issue to me. I decided to go for warmers for track days because I did not want to run on cold tyres, nothing to do with being quicker just wanted to reduce the risk of falling off. JMHO.

I guess the idea is to "level the field", and there is a risk that for every thing you allow you risk it becoming too expensive to stay competitive. People with money will do everything they can to improve their chances and those on a tighter budget struggle to stay competitive?

I think the original version of the rule (wets and warmers) was done for safety reasons. I believe what happened then was that this rule was amended at the 'post AGM - DD meeting' to its current form (ie., single control tyre for all conditions (Pirelli Daiblo) and no warmers) in order to help keep cost / complexity down.

still, it would have been good to have had a complete update of the rules sent out again.

2 weeks to go:roll:

Maybe the Rules thread should be amended, so that everyone is aware. Riders, spectators and all interested parties......

Agree with you 100%, but the racing comity need to be able to get together to ratify them, and understandably with a marathon in the way training got in the way.
