Is it worth having an APTC unit in a 620?

there was a thread on slipper clutches a few weeks back .. i think the general consensus was .... it's down to preference

a few peeps mentioned slippers wrecked their starts

i was going to .. now i'm not so bothered

As in the Slipper clutch thread i mentioned it cost me places off the start places I couldn't always make back by the time the chequered flag comes out. Now that was in the days of the shorter New Era races so it might be woryth me trying it again as it was always handy to have into corners like the old hairpin at Cadwell and Similar corners.
Andy Pike also looses places off the start but soon makes them back up, so it is probably a matter of personal preference and getting use to what you have

There's no way a slipper should wreck your start! But it could stop you wrecking your engine as it will slip on the over run & stop the over reving let alone the obvious benefits of stoping the back wheel locking up.

Having said all that the APTC clutch isn't the best slipper but its not to bad with the power of the DD bikes, if you can afford a Sigma it's a far better bit of kit & would have a better bite of the line.

My DD bikes have won the championship with both options.

and I won it with niether of them. ;)

I know we are talking 620 here but I beat the Pieman to the first corner a few times from halfway back in the grid with a Sigma in my 996. It was the first thing I was worried about this year was starts with a slipper after getting some great starts in DD A and B, but first race start on the 996 was just as good as a non slipper.
Mind you I do weigh about as much as Crankers left testicle, that might help.

No. It's not worth it.
