Blimey,this could get really silly!!

I thought my collecting habits were costly, but this is mental.

Please though, don't ever tell my wife the value of a Vacheron Constantin, or Panerai. She frequently wonders why we use a specialist insurer.

Speaking of which, do you guys have any specialist cover for these collections, due to their special nature / value or do you leave it to the home insurance to cover it?

adam
01-May-2005, 21:32
because I have paintings with a very high value i only have to let my insurers know of items above £2000, so all my minichamps will be covered without notification.

adam

just got a big tiling job in so the skys the limit.:sing:

Jasper
01-May-2005, 21:34

on a slightlydifferent subject. Bought a Bayliss rep Minichapms 1:6 off Ebay recently. Seems to have all the same engine detail as the 1:12 but unlike the 1:12 the fairing does not appear to readily come off. Is this the case or?:puzzled:

Not covered by Hiscox by any chance? They're specialist in art and antiques. It's who I use, and the only firm not to take the p*ss with the quote.

Curious as it's coming to renewal time, and if there's someone as good or better....

im just gettign a record and file of all my models and value up now so i can increase my home insurance cover

got myself the 2001 rossi and the 2002 bayliss today which is nice, only problem is i bought 2 of the rossi's thinking they were worth more than what they are so 1's on ebay for cost price, some you win some you lose

good luck with the bayliss 1 boys

I've got a collection of these, but you boys are mad !!!! :o :o

Jasper
04-May-2005, 19:29
Actually,I'm thinking of shrinking my collection and maybe getting rid of the big money ones.I feel that it's alot of money to try and justify for a model,so Adam has a good chance!!:(

adam
04-May-2005, 19:39
Jasper I did say i will bid no more so you go for it.
Why are you going the opposite way with your collection?
You were so keen on getting this one, or are you employing Jasper Tactics here????

Jasper
04-May-2005, 20:48
No,no tactics mate.Just looking at potentially over £1000 worth of models thinking is it worth it?I I've got a day to change my mind!!Oh,and i always bid at the last minute!:D

adam
04-May-2005, 21:00
im sure you will change your mind;)

deej
04-May-2005, 22:25

Jasper
04-May-2005, 22:27

deej
04-May-2005, 22:30
yep now taht feeling well, i get so arsey when the cats are chasing each other around the sofa and knock the cabinet

adam
04-May-2005, 22:37
At least when we spend big money on our real bikes we get more out of it, I know what you mean, once in the cabinet thats it, DO NOT TOUCH.
But they still look good.

Only having fun deej. I would like to see Jasper win the Bayliss.

Jasper
04-May-2005, 23:40
Thanks Adam. Can't help feeling you want me to win so that i have to sell YOU the Hodgson( you do know the Hodgson 2000 is in it's original box,but the bike looks err.....Dark Blue with 1999 Infostada decals!!-legal aid included)!!-Which i will if i win the Bayliss.:D

adam
05-May-2005, 06:57
Not worried about the Hodgson mate, there is another on ebay which i should win, i know what its like to be after something for ages then see it come up. I had to have it.
I will end up with a Hodgson sooner or later. an orange one hopefully:D

05-May-2005, 13:30

:smug:

chicken
05-May-2005, 18:33
am I missing something here? Why is this particular one worth so much? Is that that they are limited run or that they are very expensive when new (although my 1/6 2000 Bayliss Imola could not have been anywhere close to this).

your faithfully,
:puzzled:

adam
05-May-2005, 18:52

Jasper
05-May-2005, 18:55

adam

Jasper
05-May-2005, 19:13
It looks like it will be out of my league. You get it,then we'll do a deal on the Hodgson!:D

adam
05-May-2005, 19:23
only kidding Jasper, if i spent that kind of money my wife would be filing for divorce.

Twinfan
05-May-2005, 19:51
I think the seller would want to marry you if you'd spend £5000 on it!!!!

Jasper
05-May-2005, 20:00
